As cheap as I can be, I have a hard time to bid on a bunch of B&W films with no sealing enveloppe.
I know slight overdate shouldn't be a problem, specially if kept cold, but no sealing?
How about condensation when moved from a freezer etc.?

Am I right?
Am I wrong?
Am I wrong to ask??

I don't bother with those "out of the seal" 120 rolls as there is no proof that the exp date is what the seller says...

And plus, the price usually go more than what I can get from freestyle new. (if you are not looking for particular brand films, of course).

Well, there used to be a time when some "pro packs" were five rolls in one common wrap. But I would not even use 25 year old leftovers if they were free...

Not too many years ago it was rather common for high-volume 120 shooters to peel their film before the shoot. Less work to reload and less trash to deal with. Unfortunately that film is now a bit of a pig-in-a-poke because, as others have said, there is no way to know how old they are or how they were stored since being peeled. Maybe they are OK; maybe they have been sitting in the bottom of someone's camera bag for a decade. Who knows.

P.S. No offense is intended to any of our porcine friendsi by the use of term, "pig-in-a-poke"!

In December, for the first time in over 20 international flights since 9/11, an airport security checkperson unwrapped every roll of my film. Prior to that, no one had ever opened a 120 roll. Maybe this seller is getting rid of inspected film that he can no longer refrigerate?

I don't know how on earth that can be as freestyle has the worst prices I've seen outside of Japan.

I've had excellent luck with old/expired film. I think people are too apprehensive about it, which is why I am more than happy to buy tons of cheap film online that they don't want.

Sorry that I have mislead you, but I am only shooting with B&W and using Arista EDU, which are the cheapest they sell for 120 B&W...😛

Man you live in Japan, practically the best place for film, anywhere else we're screwed!

I wish I could agree. I by most of my film in the US or Korea and develop everything recently in the US. Prices for everything is expensive here. Once in a while I find a good deal on film. They other day I got 20 rolls at $0.10 a piece.
