120 processing/scanning in the UK?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows of a good processing lab/scanning service for 120 film? Most of the places I see scan MF at quite a low resolution, not really any more than 35mm.

If I take a liking to MF, then I'll sell my 35mm scanner and get a flatbed, but for the moment, I'd like to send my first few rolls to a service. I don't even have my MF camera yet, but I like to be prepared...

black and white or colour and what do you call low resolution?

Black and white you could try Ilford lab direct and you can get real silver gelatin prints as proofs for reasonable cost.

For colour The darkroom in cheltenham as already suggested or for very high quality Metro in london but the price of the scans will give you a heart attack.

Sorry should have been more specific.

Probably mostly C41 and E6, I see some labs offering 3000x3000px for 120 (presumably 6x6), which for me is low resolution, as I get over 3000 pixels across on 135, so really MF should be 6000x4500 or something like that for6x4.5.

I've used Ilford Lab before for 135, nice service, but very expensive, I use Genie for 35mm, generally happy with them, but I'm wondering if I want to try elsewhere for 120 if there are better labs out there.

Peak Imaging in Sheffield - still not cheap for develop and scan though. You may find a 'low res' MF scan is much better in comparison to your high res 35mm than you think in any case.

hi res scans cost a lot. Ilford and The Darkroom have relatively cheap scanning but not at the res you want. The darkroom will charge more for big files. By the time you have had only a handful of scans done, it would have been cheaper to buy a flatbed scanner.
If you want a cheap medium quality scanner you might want to look at an Epson F3200. Not the best quality as a recent flatbed would scan better. But its quick and simple to use with small footprint.
