12501 21mm SA Hood

Hi All,

I recently purchased a 21mm SA to replace one that was stolen from me a few years ago. I got the lens really cheap, but didn't realize that it didn't have the hood. I can't seem to find one that isn't really expensive. Does anyone know if they make aftermarket ones of any sort that are cheaper?

This comes up from time to time, and it doesn't appear so. You could always search the shapeways marketplace though.
Given the price the hoods can fetch it'll probably be easier to sell the hoodless lens and buy one with a hood. Or wait patiently checking all the usual suspects for that elusive deal.

The lowest price I’ve seen so far is about $140 which (sadly) is in line with most Leica lens hoods, but I agree it’s still super expensive 🙁.

I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

I had to spend $100 for the Elmarit 21 hood. And when I got it, it was crooked! Even though I got a good deal on the lens itself, I'm a little "bitter" about the hood situation.

Lens performs nicely when I can stop staring at that crooked hood and shoot.
