I picked up a mint condition Voigtlander 12mm 5.6 Aspherical yesterday from my pal Tim at Vintage Visuals. This is an old version of the lens with the new finder.
After I get some film back and scanned, I will give my initial impressions.
Look for some images in the near future.
Anyone use the Voigtländer angle finder with the 12mm lens ?
How does it compare to the straight OVF - does it have parallax marks ?
Currently I'm estimating the framing using the frame beyond the 16mm Frankenfinder's lines.
This works reasonably well using the full extent of the finder. But I wonder if the anglefinder would he more accurate.
PS. dont do this (blu-tack-ing a B60/67mm filter on ) the vignetting is terrible - I think the new version of the lens needs low profile slim filters.
Thanks, it was a design experiment that we made about technological potentials around 2050. Both the subjects spent the night together virtually sharing the same bed. We were looking at the relationship between physicality, dreams & communication as well as the potential of forming architecture from the movements one makes whilst asleep.
If you like you can see the documentation video but I must warn you that it is abstractly confusing. 😀
You're right about this being a fun lens to shoot with 🙂. It's really true. Heck, even looking through the viewfinder makes me smile. It's just so damn bright. And it's really nice not to have barrel distortion with such a wide lens. I'm still getting to know my little friend and feel that the best images are still to come.
Bought mine new in Prague years back along with my Bessa R, no disappointments, well, the clerk did turn the shade so first roll was vignetted. If I need more speed, I use the 15 which came in another deal later.
