135mm f3-5 "black paint Nikkor

I just looked at a 135mm. The dealer saild it is much more desirable than the chrome. Is this true?

Yes, because the black lens will be several ounces lighter in weight than the chrome. Many people also prefer the look of black lenses.

What reasons did the dealer provide?

Is it full black or both ends are in chrome finish?

Is there any difference optically between the different 3.5 versions? I picked up an all chrome one a while back. Other than it being heavy, I have been quite happy with the quality of pictures it takes.

It's a good lens, Sam, I have one and use it. And, yes, the black one is
lighter than the chrome one. I wouldn't pay more than US 150
for it including the original hood. Best,
