Anyone tried a 135mm on their ZI. There seem to be a goodly lot of old style Tele-Elmars out there and with an old Leitz 13.5cm viewfinder in the hot shoe, maybe this would work?

Anyway thoughts please?

Komura made a lovely external 135 VF that I use on the ZI. 1:1 ratio, dial in parallax adjustment...
The ZI has no problem focusing a 135/4 wide open...

I just got a Komura 135mm f/2.8 with the finder and I love the fact that it's 1:1. Bright, good contrast with the framelines. I notice on the M bodies that the small offset from the vertical axis of the lens creates a significant parallax error up close. Not to worry, it's easily correctable but still a bit annoying. I'm used to wide angle finders so this is kind of new territory for me.
As for 135mm, I think it's a great focal length. With the long baselength of the ZI, you'd be able to focus the 135 more accurately than most Leicas except the M3. Might make a killer portrait combo.

I use a Leitz 135mm viewfinder with the Apo-Telyt 135/3.4 on my Zeiss Ikon. It's a very good combination, not too difficult to focus, and reasonably well balanced. Couple of recent examples (the lens gives a surprisingly nice sort of dreamy look, I think uncorrected spherical aberration, kind of weird for recent Leica glass).

I picked up a Sonnar 135/4 a few months back, and use it on a Contax II with a Leica brightline 135mm viewfinder. Excellent combination 🙂 The viewfinder is nice and bright (1:1) and compliments the camera nicely. The Sonnar 135 is an excellent lens as well.
