I went to look at your blog now, so it probably means 14.001... however, I have a question:
do you forget to apply "levels" to your scans, or is this blog space making your shots so lifeless tonally speaking?

Marek, the blog is more for getting the photo's out. I'm not nearly as bothered with levelling as I should be. If I like any of the photo's in a blog entry then I will eventually print them, and I will have a nice silver print to then scan.
Once my website is up together, the images will be scans of proper prints, rather than rough scans.

A bit of a return to the crit by Marek - regardless of how the images appear on-screen, I can't be doing too badly. I'm about 9 pageviews away from 500 since sunday (totally 14,300-odd, so 300-odd since 2 days ago). Quite blinding really
I'll be putting my blog entries up on a wordpress-type site in the near-ish future, hopefully that will allow more comments for those who don't use myspace.

I think once I get a site together and I'm capable with making good looking prints I may try my hand at selling some, even just postcard-sized. It would be nice to get even a penny's worth from each visit

Doesn't Myspace have those automatic bots that roam around the site? 80 comments for 14,000 views? I don't like those odds.

Actually no, it doesn't.
You're thinking similar to the spiders/bots that crawl the web. As you know, even with 1000 views, only 1 or 2 could be a bot.
As for views vs comments. You must sign up to comment, but you can view without an account. I'm sure most people are referred through the link in my sig, and have no intention of making a profile for themselves simply to comment on my blog.
EDIT: Don't forget the gallery here for the view vs comment phenomena - you may get 100 or more views without comment. One comment per 180 views doesn't sound so uncommon to me - even forgetting the 10 or so people I link to my blog each time that give me feedback directly.

Cool man, I'll give you props for being so into it at 19. I wish I had gotten into photography seriously when I was younger. Keep it up and you will only get better!
