.

You have some strong images. Good luck on your trip. It is good to have a creative outlet but try and find some time for loving contact with people - that is what really heals.

I don't mean to be insensitive, and I sure hope you get to go. It sounds wonderful. But I would consider selling some gear to fund the trip. You've got a collection most of us old timers here would envy, and could easily reach your $2500 goal and still be well-equipped for your travels. Again, no offence and just my opinion.

I'm also diagnosed bipolar 2. I'm happy to hear that you've got your medication worked out and that it sounds like you're getting your life back. It took me over three years for my psychiatrist and I to work out a regimen that works for me. That and psychotherapy has given me the ability to actually lead a life.

Your work is strong and remarkable for a photographer only working for a year.

I made a small donation. I would like to have picked up one of your zines but I'm super broke right now. I hope you reach your goal and have a great and productive trip.

If you ever want to chat with someone who shares your disorder and a passion for photography pm me.

Danny, I'll send you a zine for free once I get them printed as well as the postcard promised with a $10 contribution. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It's not an easy illness to live with, I know. I've definitely poured something extra into my photography because of it, though... that I can sense.

Also thank you for the offer to talk. I might take you up on that sometime. I'm fortunate to have a great doctor at the moment which made all the difference for me; it took me a while to find the right one.

Thank you for the interest in my work.

Cheers my friend,

Jon

Jon, not really adding much to the post, but I was wondering about your project in Newark..?
I live In Newark, was curious..
You can pm me if you'd like.
Thanks

I did indeed. I'm reevaluating the gear that I REALLY need to make this trip happen and adjusting my goal amount accordingly to something more reasonable.

Unfortunately I am having doubts. Best of luck with the endeavour although you won't be receiving my money. There are people far worse off out there, just be happy you have some direction in your life.

This in a finicky topic so tread with caution, I will not be contributing any further.

Bests

I understand there are far worse people out there. I'm not asking for charity. I'm offering a product in return for funding, my original prints from the trip. If that doesn't interest you then don't invest in my project, but please don't throw your sense of morality into this. There are obviously plenty of better causes more worthy of your money, and I write that with the utmost sincerity.

Cheers,

Jon

Yeah I'm considering selling the Rollei, but that MP is my baby (it also hasn't arrived yet). I also firmly believe that I need two 35mm bodies as my M4 jammed two weeks ago. It would be terrible to be halfway through my trip and be stuck with a bum camera.
