15mm, 21mm on Desert Hike

very nice photos, steve. i'd be proud if i had taken them.

when i was first shooting with the 15 mm, i would select f4.5, focus on 2 m, use auto shutter speed, then forget about the camera and think about photos. at the time i thought i was being smart. what apertures do you like to use? and do you ever use digital correction for vignetting?

For landscapes, I set both the 21mm and 15mm at f11 and work the shutter speed as necessary. F11 is as far as you need go to get max dof without focus worries and stops short (I hope) of diffraction affecting sharpness. Using AE on the R3A, and assuming fast enough film, that means I don't think of anything but composition.

I haven't used software for vignetting. I usually like the effect too much to try to eliminate it.

And composing with the the CV15 is so much fun! I shoot often with the R2M and once I've set the exposure it's always a treat to pull my eye back from the camera and enter the expanded - and incredibly luminous - world of the 15mm viewfinder. It can be startling to see how much more I can pull in to the photo.

Great shots! My 12 year old son peeked over my shoulder and said "Wow" as I was enjoying the clouds and blue flowers in #6.

Wonderful! Thanks for sharing.

BTW....I thought the desert was flat LOL
