I am thinking of a trying to make a small spacer to put on the hotshoe of my IIIa so I can use the 15mm Heliar finder on it and still move the shutter dail. Anyone done this before and know any tips?
I've used a gizmo intended for using a synch cord on a camera with a hotshoe but no PC jack. It is an aluminum extrusion the shape you've described with a sync cord connector and a contact for the hotshoe. Only problem is that it doesn't attach as firmly as you'd like. Maybe some shimming would help?
The thing is sold under the Dot Line name as I remember and carried a reasonable price, like maybe $5.
Hope this helps!
