15mm vs 25mm?

I too LOVE the snap-shoot 25 skopar, it is my favorite handling wide angle period.

I've had success using this as a one-lens solution for a range of shooting. If you can manage within the constraints of the lens, it's surprisingly versatile, and the performance is terrific. It's a mistake to pigeon-hole it as a specialty lens for use only in particular circumstances.

Do you use an external viewfinder with the 25 mm lens?
Or will the internal viewfinder of the M4-P handle it?

Reply first: yes, I use an external VF for this lens.

Reply second: I don't know, haven't tried it. i wear specs and even the 28mm framelines on a regular Leica M are not usable for me. The original 25mm Snap-Shot Skopar in LTM is scale focus only, with click stops at 1.0, 1.5 and 3.0 meters -- with depth-of-field, focus is a non-issue, whereas for me framing is critical. The Zeiss 25/28mm brightline finder is luxuriously bright and relatively undistorted.

This thread certainly has brought up some interesting points!

I am a 35mm guy and this is what I shoot with most of the time. I do enjoy travelling and this is my reasoning for getting a wide - to capture some of the vistas/markets/interiors of buildings etc. I've only put 1 roll through the 15mm and it was just on a walk around my neighbourhood after work - perhaps not the best way to get a feel for the lens? It left me rather frustrated.

But as others have said maybe the 25 is too similar to the 35? It's just my gut feeling that I think the 25 might be better.

Here's the only 2 acceptable images I feel I got from that roll:

Actually If I had seen this post before I posted, I might have told you to keep the 15: you did quite well with it!

15 or25?

15 or25?

I am in Paris at present and have used the 25 color skopar a lot. I have with me a 50 mm Summicron and the 35mm version. Must say I love the CV 25mm color skopar.
