Tomorrow is the big day. I'm shooting 4 rolls of 17 year old film. My 1988 Kodacolor Gold 200 that shows a develop before date of 04/90!

My friend who is the male model for tomorrows shoot thinks i'm a little crazy for using it, but I really don't think much will be wrong with it. It may actually make the photos more interesting. Probally overexposed a little bit.

Wish me luck. I'll post some samples when I develop them.

Emm.... 17 years old film... Emm... Cool!... But... Emmm... Nevermind...

😛 I have all these boxes of the film...i have to do something with them.

Hats off to the noble experiment! I once processed some slide film that was ten years old. The colors became soft and very pastel-ly. It was Fuji 100, I believe. I liked the results. Less Blue and Green, warmer.

Cheers,

Thanks Chris. I have a feeling the same will be said of this film...very warm....pastel. That's okay, it still should provide some interesting images.

waiting for the uploads.

By the way, i have some old outdated tech pan in 120-format. Does anybody know what to expect from it? I mean, it's very slow trad. BW so, is there any effect of those years on it? Nope it's not 17 y old, just a few years after the warranty date.

I'm using out of date film on a regular basis (call me cheap), and find that when having been kept at proper temperatures during its lifetime, it beats the pants of film that's been sitting in a glove compartment of a car in the blazing sun...

But 17 years... I'm curious how well it's kept up..

Would anyone like a free roll of HP5 (vintage 1984) still in a sealed box? I also have a roll of Kodak VX 1000. No cost - I will post to anyone who can use them. They arrived with an ebay purchase and I am interested to see how they turn out.

I'll take the HP5! I can use it for one of my shoots. 1984...what a great year for film. 😀
