1920s Police Mugshots

these are very entertaining. Some look like fashion shoots, a couple just exude shame in the face of the subject, some are cool, some brazen, and I love the one of the two hoods giving the camera "the look". Also, I wanna know how Mr. W. Moon kept that hat on his head! Thanks for posting the link.

I wonder...

Unless there's a giant window on the side, most of those are shot inside a room.
What manner of lighting do they use? the light is so soft and even, like an overcast day.

Those strobists folks need to take a note from this set. That's how you shoot flattering portraits even of people taken into custody.

The lighting and the detail are very nice - you can see shadows on some from bars on windows... maybe it's an open-roof sort of deal as there's decay on the walls and some wet patches on the floors...

F. Murray looks like one Dr. Egon Spengler of Ghostbusters 😀

A nice break from looking at Charlie Sheen's mug....lol

Great stuff!

Fascinating. Yes, they really make you wonder about their "crimes."

And for the most part, they look well groomed and fashionable. No "Nick Nolte" shots.
