Yet another "Wow!" due, that really was a find. I wish I could talk about the "more familiar individual boxes" but haven't even seen a picture of one. Zeiss's Contax stuff seems very rare to this old git.

Oddly enough, someone on ebay was selling reduced size reproductions of the 1930's Zeiss film boxes. I keep on waiting to find a real one.

Hmmm, and 24 exposures size 22 x 33mm. Very odd.

Another one...
Another one...
Here's one I found a while ago, develop before an unknown month in 1946.
A version of these exists (I think/hope) that is a bit fatter, because it has an instruction leaflet folded and wrapped round it.
It's a daylight loader and has a black paper leader. Here's a Contax cassette with the spool removed and the load in it. Pull out the paper and you get to the film, eventually.
The leader may be in the wrong way round as the other end of it (as I then found out) is pointed like an ABLON would cut it.

Hi,
I wish I could answer that but I can't be sure. I bought one and asked how the picture was taken to sell it and then discovered he'd one opened a long time ago and used it for the "Sales" photo and then advertised the sealed one. So I asked how much and ended up buying them both.
When they arrived the sealed one was slim and the opened one would have been fat , to judge from the wrap around sticker. I then asked questions and that was the answer I got but no set of instructions, alas.
I'm sorry I can't help more but on this forum someone may well come up with the answer.

Just won this 1948 Gevaert panchromosa film marked "LEICA" a few weeks ago, it's one of the few pre 1950 era Leica film boxes I've seen even advertisted lately?
Seems just like WW2 Leica's even the wartime and postwar film stocks bearing the Leica name are all but impossible to find anymore, the days of "savy" collecting are long gone :/

Agfa F for the Leitz KASAM reloadable cassette, also pictured. The KASAM is a type 1A cassette for Leica standard, it precedes the FILCA. I have five of these cassettes and use them frequently (respool then myself), but have only one box of film, bought at a fair last November. It is unopened, expired January 1946, the month my dad was born!

Well, I'm afraid the paper with the 400TX label in the accessory shoe spoils it

Hi,
I've one of those cassettes in the box and looked it out. It says on the top "Leitz-Agfa-Kassette D R Pa" and then "für Agfa-Leica Film." plus some nice machining of grooves opposite the slot. It's tall and modern spool are a bit short (2+mm) when put in it but the velvet may be crushed or missing.
I wondered if the wording would date it but need a lot more high German to go down that path.
It's always interesting what turns up, isn't it?

Here's some current "eye candy" photos with my unopened box of 1948 Gevaert Panchromosa Film from Belgium..........

Camera is my ex- US Army 1945 Leica IIIC K LOOGI K from July 24, 1945, with a 1945 US Army issue Elmar f3.5/35 Wide Angle lens with an original Leitz UV filter, there's also a OKARO viewfinder enhancement filter and in the accessory shoe is a late 1945 issue "Lyre Shaped" VIOOH finder.
Enjoy!
Tom
PS: Still looking for a nice slighty used looking FLQOO hood for the 35 Elmar, if anyone knows a lead for one in the $85 to $100 range let me know.........

Thank You Sir! That Gevaert box was a lucky find, it was sold on the ebay with a poor description, I only found out at the last moment that it was for a Leica or was marked on the box for Leica cameras etc.
Now I just need to find that FLQOO hood and the camera/lens will be complete, the Elmar 35 is a great shooting lens

Hi,
Another bit to add to the heap. The seller got the large cardboard box with several refills in it with a IIIc years ago from someone stationed in Germany in the late 40's, I think.
The refills feel as though they are just film only, meaning no spool.
The instruction leaflet was with them but may have nothing to do with them as its folds suggest it was in an individual film box.
