1930's film carton?

3.jpg

Just picked up 3 cartons of July 1945 expired Kodak Super -XX ~ 36 Exposure.
(as soon as these arrive I'll take some shots of these and the other fairly large amount of worldwide brands of 1940 to 1947 WW2/ERA "Leica" marked film boxes that I've collected over the past 8 years.)

Enjoy!

Just arrived yesterday in the mail......the 1945 dated Kodak Super -XX in 36 exposure boxes, together with my 1945 Leica IIIC K *non stamp* camera.

Enjoy!

And here's another little mystery. Can anyone identify the two very plain versions of the aluminium cans either side of the yellow Kodak can at the front?

David, I see this mystery is going on four years old, and perhaps it's been solved already. For what it's worth, however, you might be interested to know that Ansco apparently used this style in the late forties. I have a few cans like this with debossed lettering on the lower portion that reads: "ANSCO, BINGHAMTON, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A." (I've got a picture, but no convenient place to post it just yet.)

1930s film?

1930s film?

You do have original film to go into these beautiful boxes? Picture shows Kodak magazine with original load of Plus X and its can. Along with a type 119 Retina camera. An illustration from my book on the early history of the Nikon.

Hello Wes!

Ohh like 98% of all my collectible film boxes are loaded/full with their original films.
All three of those Super-XX films are full boxes/ Can/paperwork/etc.

Anyone else find any pre 1950 "Leica" marked boxes lately?

Hi,

I've added a little more to the heap, here's what's new:-

Ilford%20%26%20Perutz%203-L.jpg

As you can see the Perutz lid hasn't got a hole in it for a normal spool centre; I'll have to scrounge one at the lab. and get the hacksaw out...

Regards, David

PS Ooops, I should have cloned the Blu-Tak out of the picture, sorry. But where would we be without it?

I bought some pre war Agfa Ultraspeed when I developed the film it had images on it...

So it's not so obvious that you wouldn't try it!

I don't know about you but I think this is a beautiful image. Looks like grape vines in the background. One wonders how old the children might now be. Reddit could run with something like this. :)

Quite a bit off topic, but the other day I managed to make my first box:
and thought ...well lets try to make the car too which as you can see was actually quite a bit harder to do......after printing this one, the ink went low :)
what I learned: paper was too thin, and too dull, & ink too low...and wrong kind of glue

Tom,

Thanks; I'm always amazed by what's still out there.

Ron,

Have you seen the Olympus OM-1 on their site? Worth searching for.

Regards, David

Thank you David,

If I find time I'll try the OM-1 and - only - if it comes out ok, I'll dare to post it here :)

Hi,

It's all part of the service. After I posted that I thought that we ought to have a competition to see who made the best one. Then I realised I'd have a problem if I tried to charge 10 Euros for the website address... ;-)

Regards, David

Hi,

Very interesting, thank you.

Alas at USD 26 or 27 plus our tax and duty it's a bit too luxurious for me (sigh).
