Were all of the early silver Summicron 90mm made in Canada?

I am interested in a 2nd version with built in hood, detachable head. What was the purpose of the detachable head?

Were any built in Germany and if so, was there any difference in optic and build quality between Canada and German made lenses?

This issue has been visited before ireference to lenses. Between Germany and Canada there is no difference in quality. If you are planning to collect a mint condition there may be a price differential.

I have an early 90mm summicron, I am pretty sure that it is a 48mm filter (but it may be 49mm)...I am at work now and I can check when I get home later, but I am sure that somebody will join in here and correct me if I am wrong....my 90mm has the tripod mount on the the bottom....it is a big lens (big bertha) but I like it....I started a thread with some photos with it a while ago....please note, not all the photos in the thread are with the earlier version, but if you are interested in the performance, you can check out my photos, they were all taken with the earlier version...hope that helps...cheers, michael
