If you have feeling that world is paranoid, big brother is watching and people give away their privacy and laws to feel safe, please post here photos of signs of this.

You're right, of course. I'd rather have more risk than more "security", which is just government speak for spying on it's own citizens. My solution has been to move to smaller cities. Small town life can be boring, but the paranoia and spying by the government is a lot less severe. Everyone should read George Orwell's book you mentioned (as well as Animal Farm) once a year.

There are people who feel all this spying is justified. These people are part of the problem, and you should not ignore them. Fear and distrust makes for aggressive and violent people, all in the name of your "protection".

I would also highly recommend Atlas Shrugged.

It's amazing how clairvoyant Orwell and Rand were.

and Huxley ... and the finest poet of the 20th century, in the English language, who saw it coming almost a century earlier.

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins...

Which bits did Rand get right?

I used to be an admirer. Now I reckon that as a prophet she makes Marx look good. Her 'consent of the victim' is a spun restatement of 'Workers of the world unite: you have nothing to lose but your chains."

Cheers,

R.

So did I, until I actually read some for myself...

I like the one you added best, nice shot. I have actually read 'some' Rand. I read most of Atlas Shrugged mainly because of all the hype, I got to about 30 pages to the end before I realized it wasn't going to get any better and bailed.
