Yes, I also live in Hong Kong.
In fact, I just bought an M8 a week ago and tried it out this weekend in Macau. Didn't get shots as nice as yours though as I am still tryiing to come to grips with the camera, in particular, trying to get used to the 1.33 magnification of the lenses. I also have the same lenses that you shot with but they don't have the 6-bit coding. Do yours have them?
In any event, as I wanted to try a lens with the 6 bit coding, I went out and bought the only lens available with the 6 bit coding - a 24 F2.8.

I also just bougt the M8 2 weeks ago. It really need little time to handle it (before I own R-D1S). My 50mm F1.4 have 6bit coding but as I know the 6bit is only have u to save history data instead of improve the color. And some guys told me that it is not use in taking DNG (raw) files.
Yes always shortage of Leica M Lens in HK and Japan, because many people bought M8 and want to buy new lens.

Lovely shots! Well done. What is the story about the drawing of the camera on the dried fish shot?

Can some one who is knowledgeable about these matters please advise whether what simonape has been told is correct?simonape said:My 50mm F1.4 have 6bit coding but as I know the 6bit is only have u to save history data instead of improve the color. I'm far from knowledgable, but I'll give it a shot.
- coding is useful/necessary for lenses less than 50mm as the coding enables the in camera software to adjust for vingnetting and blueish tinge at the corners of the photo.
- You can remove both the vingnetting and blueish tinge using "cornerfix" software which is freeware if you don't want to use the IR cut filter and coding.
- AFAIK the bluish tinge is caused when using the IR cut filters. These filters are necessary for all colour photography due to the "design" of the camera. Without the filter, the most noticable effect is that synthetic black coloured fabrics can appear purple in colour rather than black.
- The coding only enable you to see the focal length of the lens.
