1st roll in the Rollei 35 T

Just purchased Rollei 35 with Tessar lens. I doubt pictures will be any different from Yashica Electrol 35MC (small scale focus camera with 40/2.8 Tessar-like lens) but Rollei is mechanical, also is small and lens is 40mm. I like small 40mm lens cameras.

If you get a good one it will be sharper than the Yashica.

@divewizard,

Really nice images - congratulations on acquiring your 35T! I am very happy with mine. Your shots have inspired me - I'm getting mine out to do some shooting tomorrow.

Seems that Rollei is smaller by 6-7mm in width and height. Depth may be tricky part with collapsing lenses - but nonetheless, Rollei technically is smaller. Enough to feel difference? Sharper to see difference? I will report back! So far 35MC has been my favourite take-everywhere 40mm lens camera and I don't mind if Rollei 35 changes this. Hope to make similar thread after some weeks.

The 35MC is easier to handle I think. It has a distance scale right in the viewfinder and all the controls are in traditional places.
It's a little apples to oranges since the MC is aperture priority while the Rollei is full manual.

The Rollei feels far more substantial though.

Yashica 35MC is is nice but batteries are expensive/difficult to find (in Japan). I have the Rollei 35S now, except for partially overlapping a frames (sometimes) a step-up. :)

How about SR44's there? I've used four of them wrapped together and topped with a coiled copper wire to make up length.

Overlapping frames? I've just received Rollei 35 and manual states "Double exposure, blank frames and overlapping frames are impoosible". Looking at build properties I tend to believe this is well made camera, which is also stated in manual - "The Rollei 35 is particularly solidly built camera for everyday use".

Controls are a bit fiddly but dimensions so small aren't free. Probably just a bit too small! But Rollei is expelling something different from it....it's solid camera. Now I get what you guys mean.

Now I will load my first film and try to establish connection.

hahaha.... i use a minox and it stays with me most of the time....the minox is like a cross between the Rangefinder coupled Olympus XA and the Fully manual Rollei 35. These small cameras are amazing in terms of ther image quality, and best of all, we don't usually compare about bokeh... raytoei

I've got two XA. I respect the design, the project geniality, but the optics never satisfied me.
Now my small camera is a Contax T3. The only difference from my other bigger cameras is the weight! The negatives are fantastic.
Rollei 35 are very very nice. Truly mechanical, total analogic settings.
Is there anybody who compared rollei35/sonnar with T3/sonnar? I think the optics are more or less the same.
Is guessing the distance with rollei a true problem? I know, the hyperfocal distance... But this is only a compromise. In practise what are the results?
Best
Antonio

Don't you have 6.2V 4SR44 cells there? On ebay are Camellion brand, very cheap. I use one bought locally, but will get from bay some spares.
