$2,751 for a mix and match Canon 50mm F0.95 lens ?

That is a custom cam on the lens. The factory original Cam is a "tongue" type, with the rear element cut to accommodate. Some 50/0.95 lenses were not marked "TV" but did not have a cam.

Price is crazy, mine was $200 abut 5 years ago.

Yeah, but $5000 is the Buy-It-Now price that the seller wished to achieve, so far nobody buys, don't think he can sell it at $5000. Last time also no body wants:

But this Canon 0.95 lens is a completed auction by now, and it reached $2,851 so is the real thing.

I can't believe the Canon went for that. Maybe time to convert one of mine to M-Mount.
 
I sold that lens with a Canon 7s body in pristine condition to someone in Berlin for EUR 875, only two, three years ago.

If I knew things in advance, I'd be betting the horse races now, I always say.

Sold it to finance my M-Hex 50/1.2, which I sold just now. That lens will probably sell for USD 2800 as well in two three years time.

Oh well.
 
I almost got one for eur 500 (or in that area), in M mount, non TV version (which I believe is more highly regarded or something). That was a sad story actually. That was two years ago and when the guy agreed on 600 I first thought he knew nothing about photo equipment. Turned out not so, he was an RF enthusiast and simply didn't care about making money on that lens, just wanted to make some space. Long story short, the only M mount camera I had at the time was Bessa R3A. I took the lens (it was in excellent condition) but before mounting paused to look at the release button (those lenses are very large in diameter and cover the button). All of a sudden the guy takes the lens and tells me I can't mount it on a Bessa because he doubted it could release again. Turns out he converted the lens for only certain Leica models that don't have that little border around the release button. I was still ready to buy it, but he wouldn't sell it to me 🙁

Hmmm... since he's such an enthusiast, maybe he posts here?! Hello guy (sorry forgot your name) - I have other M mount cameras now, can I have that lens please? 🙂

Makes me wonder why Cosina did not opt for a true 1.0 design with the new Nokton. The 1.1 as it is with a real lfe signature of a 1.4 lens seems not what the market wanted I guess...
 
ha ha, 1.0 is not enough, hoping someone can come up with something bigger, 0.9 at least, performance not that really matter, as long as the price is right, there is a good market for it, I think.
 
those lenses were everywhere sometime ago around 1000$. Now they disappeared mostly. Does that mean everyone is happy about it? The same for Canon 50mm f1.2, now it is rare..I am glad that I bought mine on a canon P for about 400$ last year 🙂
 
So now I'm frightened by selling my canon 7 f.95 lens. I haven't really gotten into the range finder hobby too much. My eyes are going bad due to Glaucoma (and I'm only 29). Does any one think that it would be practical to keep and convert for a digital Lens? I mainly shoot portraits/weddings with Nikon, So would it be feasible to convert to a 4/3 digital such as the G1? or even on a F mount? I also have a canon A1 and a old Rolie. Would it be worth it for professional use or is it just a hobby lens? It's been like 10 years since I have last used the lens but I've been thinking about purchasing a fast 50mm for my nikon to play with and thats why I am was going to sell it, but now reading up on the lens a bit more and am wondering if I should keep the lens or sell it and wait for a Noktor to convert? Thanks for the info ahead of time.
 
well I've sold my RF version converted to M this week. It wasn't getting much use. Amazing that they were so cheap years ago! I still have a TV one, looking for someone to convert it to M. I might use one of those 6 bit adapter rings. who knows what future will it have...
