Canada, eh.
I got 2 new camera accessories today. One, for the top of one camera, the other for the bottom of another camera.

Met with Gene today for a coffee/beer and did a trade for a brilliant C/V 50mm external finder for my Contax. Big, bright view, and framelines to boot! The finish even matches the Contax's well.

Stopped in at Vistek and saw that they had 3 M winders marked down. I tried them all on my M6 and chose the quietest one for $100Cdn. That's about what you'd pay for a replacement bottom cover, and this one winds film to boot! I know it goes against the compact nature of a rangefinder, but hey, I'm ready for the models now!

Hi Joe. It's in my bag at the moment. Unfortunately I can't use both winder and grip at the same time, but the winder gives a great surface area to hold onto. When I'm not using the winder (which will be 95% of the time, I imagine) I'll use the m-grip. If the winder is on the M6, the m-grip will go on the M2 or 3. I really like that m-grip, thanks again!

Ain't that CV finder wonderful? I use the same one on my Bessa-T. It should be a requirement that all camera finders be that nice.

I had the privilege of handling both of these cameras today. What beauties. A rare encounter with the top of the chain for a bottom-feeder like me ...

I hated to see that CV finder go, but when Frank offered me a Kiev 4am with Helios 52mm AND Jupiter-12 35mm for it, I immediately buckled. Bottom-feeder heaven! 😀

Gene

It was a good deal all around. Gene got a Kiev and 2 lenses for his C/V external finder. I originally got the Kiev and lenses in trade (from Nick in Russia) for an Olympus 35rc that cost me $35 at a camera show.

I'm confused - why do you need a 50m Finder at all when thats what the camera shows (I thought) anyway ?

I'm sure I am missing something and equally sure you will enlighten me !
