SCAM! SCAM! I just ordered from there and they sent me an email back saying that the only payment they accept is a wire transfer. I must give them my bank details and they would initate it. I sent them an email saying I only do credit card or Paypal. I am awaiting to see what they say. It is fun dealing with scam artists because you can play with them.
No important info was given to them.

Here is the email exchange so far. The website claims they are a NY entity but look how April is spelled on one of the email headers. Most recent displayed first. It is funny that thier website lists that they accept MO check and company check as well but the email never offered that.

Here is the reply I got back from sending them an email about there phones being out. If you are a mail order buisness you would think they would have the phones taken care of right away.

I am actually very glad to have found this thread - it explains a lot about what has caused my morning to be hectic.
I was reviewing a credit card statement and found charges on there for interland.com - a hosting company. How odd - I own a hosting company, so why would I have charges from a competitor...
I called and was told that my name, address, and credit card info were used to create a domain and hosting account with them, but since I did not know the secret account word, I could not make any changes...
The domain was a variation of info-buyphotovideo.com - although the name sounded vaugly familiar, I know that i do not own that domain.
After reading your story - about the wire transfers only, I recalled where the name sounded familiar. I went to buyphotovideo and tried to purchase a panasonic projector for an obscenly low price. I saw that they accepted credit cards and felt secure in that. Just like the previous poster, I received an email the next morning and it stated bank wire only - and thought "SCAM." Needless to say, i left it at that and found another site with the product.
Reflecting on this now, it is clear that they had all the CC info from me they needed - so I encourage anyone that has tried to purchase from them and then received the wire transfer email, to check your credit card statements!!! They used my info to make charges on their own.
A weird caviot here is that they are philanthropists too. Two charges were to charities... Odd...

I do not think you will see these R-D1s selling for anything much less then the MSP. At this point, they have no competition, with the Zeiss (only potential) and Leica digital rangefinder still 1.5 years away. Although my impression is that sales have been slower then anticipated (I actually read that somewhere), I suspect they have already sold 4000 to 5000 of these cameras and will easily sell the remainder (10,000 production limit?) before the competition arrives.

Maybe sales have been slower than anticipated by some of us, including perhaps some camera dealers, but I don't think Epson has commented one way or the other. I doubt they were expecting to sell 10,000 copies of a US$3000 camera in a short time. The RF market is a tiny subset of the overall camera market.
