Hi,

I just got a 21/4 and noticed that some of my shots (only took a few so far) aren't level but rather slopea bit to the right. When shooting, I used the frame lines in the external viewfinder to make sure everything was straight, so I'm a little surprised at the results so far. Am I wrong to use the frame lines for leveling purposes? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I glued a very small bubble level to the side of my 15mm finder. In portrait position I can frame first, then adjust a little with the bubble level. The level itself is about 12mm in diameter and only about 8mm thick.
I use the 15mm mostly in portrait because of the exaggerated perspective on both sides. This could also work for your 21mm.
Otherwise, you can try to keep verticals upright with the in-camera finder (if present). Maybe the 21 finder distorts like the 15mm finder? A distorted finder makes it hard to level.

Ok, I checked the viewfinder lines and turns out that they were slightly slanted to the right. I also think the lines were not set evenly flush (parallel) to the back of the viewfinder because one side of the brightlines rectangle was larger than the other side. In any event, I exchanged it today - the new finder has straight bright lines!

My CV 25mm finder (newer brightline version) has gone out-of-level twice now with ordinary knocking around inside a camara bag. The bright lines are etched on a glass disc that can rotate with use. There are screws to disassemble the finder and set everything right again. The second time this happened, I adjusted, then tightened the screws as hard as I could. So far, so good.
