Hello,
because Im interested in a 21mm/4 for my Zorki, I was looking for a fitting finder now and got shocked by their price. A decent 21/4 can be picked up for around 130-150€ (used) and the finder is almost as much.😱

So are there any older, cheaper versions of 21mm finders or any tricks or do-it-yourself-solutions that'll do the job? Im well aware that none will reach the quality of a new finder, I just want a rough idea of framing.

I haven't done this yet myself, but you could buy a Vivitar Wide & Slim for ten dollars and chop out the viewfinder, then epoxy it onto a shoe attachment. (What would you call that thing, a foot?) I absolutely plan to do this. The finder of the Vivitar is absurdly distorted but the CV finder isn't all that wonderful really, not compared to the lens itself, which is ace.

I glued on a fish-eye door peep hole viewer on a flash attachment, and I use it with my 7.5mm fisheye lens. It works.

Actually there is a Russian 20mm finder which they say is quite good. You'll find more information on cameraquest.com website. The last one I saw on evil bay went for 70EUR.

The main problem with the VC finders is the fragile, plastic and no-lock foot.
