And what are experiences with the M240.? It is maybe more tricky than M9.
All I see is B/W. I thought the aperture is ten blades or so - some postings on Flickr confuse me - such as [very nice] postings with a four-blade aperture.
I do tend to like the older 'look' - I have had a SA back in the beginning of the eighties. Then I found the edge unsharpness disconcerting and sold it. Some regret.
In fact is can be used to compositional favor. The plane of sharpness might bend forward a bit. Anyway, closed down and on tri-x it marvels: the bigger grain gives that extra edge sharpness.

Thanks LR, nice pictures.
I looked at pictures of the SA's 3.4 and indeed, there is a 4 blade diaphragm, like in a cine lens. [Probably due to space constraints]. But I must say the absence of flaring is quite nice in very high contrast pictures (the Beach). I once had the F4.
For my Heliar 15mm I use a quick trick to correct the last purple edge: just change the temperature of the edges (mostly -16) in Lightroom. That works good enough, to correct what is left after having selected a 28mm/2.8 or 21mm. But it is a band of less than 5-8% width I think; for the SA the band is much wider. It is more vertical than just corners. I'll try the flat field plug in.

I think the absence of the 'stars' in the depicting of the lights in the corridor and in the city in the background renders te picture quite handsome!
Artifacts with stars are so prominent in modern designs - originating from the diaphragms (such as in the SEM 21) and this gives me some distaste for buying it.
Alas, the SA21 is mostly a BW-er 😱
