Regarding the use of a 21SA on an M240, I'm assuming it would have the same color edge\italian flag\metering quirks as is present on the M9. Right?

Just for information I'm using it on my M8.2 and have no issue at all.

No metering quirks on the M240 -- the metering system is a different design and is unaffected by the protruding lens. It meters just fine.
Italian flag, yes, though I'm not sure it's as pronounced as on the M9 as the M240 has a different sensor design that is, in part, an attempt to address these issues (shallower wells). Haven't compared the two though -- all I can say reliably is that on the M240, photos taken with the SA 21/3.4 do display colored edges. Cornerfix and Adobe Flat Field both seem to resolve that problem.

Actually, I should qualify that...
If the metering mode is set to Advanced on the M240, there is no metering problem. If it's set to Classic it works like the M9.

Just did the same, found a nice one locally at a good price with the finder. Unfortunately the 50 cron $ will be spent on xmas holidays to the beach, so my SA will have to be acquired in payments. Good things come to those who wait..?

Thank you! This was a hope over experience shot. The interior of the factory is quite dim. I think this was at 1/8 or 1/15 wide open.
