I'm on the hunt for one of these myself. It's been on my radar for the past few years and I've been building my film kit around specific lenses based on their rendering rather than raw performance. This will round out my setup to give me 21/35/50 and I think that will be perfect.

I seem to be going against the grain in planning passing mine on... While I love the lens and it's rendering/handling/etc, I just don't go so well with more than one lens in my arsenal - not sure how many lenses are required to make an arsenal, 2?

Michael -- I only use two lenses, the 21mm SA and a 50mm "rigid". They are permanently mounted on my two M4s. Don't need any other lens!

I hear you, and I love your work with them, especially your Coal Town project.
I mostly use the 35mm pre-asph summilux, and I don't think I want or need more than that... So I think I'll have a one lens arsenal soon, I am a simple person.

After testing the water with CV 21/4 (great little lens!) for a year or so, I finally decided and joined the club. I went with 21/4 instead of 3.4 that seems to be more popular here. I liked the smaller size (tho heavy!), 39mm filter size and LTM compatibility so I can put it on my IF. And I must say the lens looks gorgeous though I paid for something you'd pay for "UG" condition.
I really liked the CV 21/4 but it was quite contrasty. I wanted to get something a little more classic looking rendering for B/W and to align with my other lenses.
Just came back from a quick walk to get a coffee and developed the test roll. Nothing special to show, but I am liking the result so far.
1969 M4 BP, 1960 SA 21/4, Tri-X in Diafine.

I shoot Tri-X about ISO 1000 - 1250 ish. I shoot without meter 90% of time (basically by gut feeling), but when I do use L-208 or light meter app, I set it to right in between ISO 800 and 1600. My brain is calibrated to ISO 1600 shooting so I mentally dial back a tad bit from there. Then I just develop in Diafine using the chronograph on my wrist watch, often some wine in my system. 🙂

I love this tread! Reading last week's posts alone it seems that several SAs are on their way to new owners. I got another one myself a couple of days ago: a 21/4 + IKWOO. It's on my M4-P now, but I'm planning it for use on the IIIf. Love the fact that it's convertible.
