Just got my "new" SA21 in the mail. It's chrome and from 1964. I just popped it on my M4 and honestly I think it'll probably just stay there most of the time. Super excited to use one again! I'll try not to be foolish and sell it this time.

I like it Vincent! I need more time to get out and shoot with mine but it’s now effectively permanently attached to my M4.

Greetings agoglanian! You are doing well with the 21SA. I read your posts in this thread. I have a chrome 21SA too.

I played bass in the following: Goatsnake, The Obsessed and Acid Kind. Loud, slow and heavy!
Whoa... Never thought the day doom/stoner and photogeekery would overlap!! Acid King is amazing!
Great collection of shots here, love the look of 21mm, just got a zm 21 4.5 to play around for the first time, and this is a very inspiring thread

Loving this little beauty. I think the 21SA 3.4 is similar in character to a 35mm pre-asph lux, but just loads wider and yet pretty distortion free... or it seems that way to me at least. This lens is lovely on film. Just seen that I have never added anything to this 21SA thread, time to fix that:

You people are a bad influence. Been waiting on a Super Angulon R F3.4 for more than a week now, customs from Canada to the US takes forever!
Why did I end up with an R version? It's a long story. For some reason, a local farm auction had a Leicaflex Standard with lenses. I ended up with only the lenses (50 and 90), which were single cam, so I got a beautiful condition Leicaflex Standard Mark II from Westborn Camera, sent to DAG for a meter overhaul.
My plan is to use it on both the Leicaflex, my M5 (with a modified R to M adapter to prevent the meter from popping up) and my Ricoh GXR.
R version is scale focus only, but, with a 21mm, should be a bit easier.
I've been thinking about a full frame digital for a while, but I read that this lens won't even physically mount on the Leica SL. Can anyone confirm? The rear element should be pretty close between the M and R versions.

Does anyone know if this lens will mount properly on a CLE?

It will mount but the meter won’t work.

Thanks for the reply! Same as the M6 then. I've been strongly considering a lighter setup recently... I'm assuming a CLE will work fine with a 35 summilux pre-asph but I'll research that.
I'll use this post to share another shot with the 21 SA & Tri-X.
