Hi guys
Love my new 21mm VC lens. The viewfinder is great too. I was wondering what the dotted line below the top frameline is for?

The dotted line is the top of the frame at close focus, Ped (parallax indicator).

Ok thanks. How does it work exactly?

Basically, for a VF mounted right on on top of the lens, when you focus closer, the actual picture frame shrinks in size (lens gets longer) and moves lower. Best is to put some ground glass in the film gate and compare ....

Thanks, through the viewfinder in the camera I can see the frames move but on the external finder as it isn't coupled in any way obviously nothing changes, so are the dashed lines for me to judge parralax myself?

That's right. Use the etched lines to get a sense of parallax. It's not a major concern with very wide angle lenses.

Thanks for the help. I'm only half way through my first roll with the 21mm so I'll take some test shots to help me understand how it behaves at both extremes of the focal range.
Cheers
