Hi there, I am in the market for a 21mm wide for my M6. I've shortlisted to 3 options based on my budget:

1. Minty Used Avenon 21/2.8 Silver
2. Minty Used ZM 21/2.8 Biogon
3. Brand new CV 21/4

I don't think I'll ever find a Leica Elmarit within the

No doubt the ZM is a fine glass, but I've heard the Avenon 's optical ability is approaching Leica Elmarit. How true is that? (I have an offer that's $250US cheaper than ZM) And I'm a bit concerned with its resell value since it's so scarcely available.

The CV is the cheapest and still delivers, plus I keep 39mm filters, which flavors the CV (although it's not the biggest concern)

Which one which you choose?

Thanks

Barrel size is not a concern at all. Though, extra f-stop is a big plus because I want to use it in crowded city shots too.

Zeiss admitted red shifts occurs on Biogon 21/4.5 in digital sensors. I have a Sony a5000 that I might use it on (sorry i didn't mentioned that) Does that appears on APS-C sensors too, or just limited on 135 sensors (A7, M9, M240 etc)

There are a number of software cures for that. Red shift is common with many wides on the M's.

I bought the 4.5 because it's small and I street shoot, but mostly because it has almost zero distortion. The 2.8 has plenty, but most folks expect that in a very wide.

Look for the any distortion, this is full frame:
