The description says "...have verified the year by the serial number and the Leica website shows a value of $2200.00 for this year of camera..."

Looks like a little bit of BS on the part of the seller. I've never known Leica to keep price guides on their own cameras.

The camera and lens were offered by Kims Kreature Komforts, which says it all.
The winning bidder still went to high on this in my opinion. I know it is in nice condition, but for the pair - $500 something should be tops.

I'd like to get one of those original cases. Just got my first Leica, a IIIc, and a 50mm Industar. Like to have one of those cases to put it in.
besides ebay, is there a source for original cases?
PS: $710m does seem a little high, but not ridiculous.
$2200 is definitely ridiculous.

Watch that step!
That`s typical......if it has Leica on it it`s WORTH $1,000 or more OMG!!!!
It`s one reason why I call it evilbay, someone can offer a normal, nothing special flat top IIIC or IIIFBD and say it`s worth $2,200 and somewhere else some guy offers an ultra rare Ball Bearing non stamp IIIC that ends up selling for less than $300!
But $710 for this? (it`s at most worth $375/$400, if you really have to have it)
Where are these people when I sell off all my average stuff? I can find normal Leica stuff like this almost everyday......

There is no section of "the Leica website" that deals with prices.
