I usually bulk load and shoot for ~34 working frames per roll. Why? Because I use the 6-frame x 6-strip negative storage pages.

Seems like a 36 shot roll would fit perfectly. But then you would need to contact proof on 8.5 x 11.5 inch paper.

Bulk loading is a bit imprecise. I get something like 33-36 frames usually. With factory-loaded 36 exposure cassettes I start on frame 0 and almost always get 39 frames. I don't like having more than fits the sleeve.
