24mm Ricoh GR in the works?

Stand-alone 24mm GR is not a useful piece of gear for my needs. What I'd like to see is something akin to the old GX200… with a lens covering 24 to 50mm (or maybe 75), with focal length step mode like the GX200. Put this lens configuration on the GR's APS-C sensor and I'm on it immediately!:)

Yeah I would go for that also. An f2.8 or 3.5 35-90 equiv would float my boat. Don't care who makes it as long as it's an aps-c or aps-h sensor. Dreaming of course... it's not going to happen.
The Leica Vario is closest... just too spendy for digital rot rate !

they are doing it wrong.. we need a 50mm or 75mm GR, not wide :p

I think 24mm would be too wide as a daily lens for most shooters, for me it is but interesting never the less.
A 21mm would be sweet and something that a lot would be interested on. have the GW3 to keep me happy for now though.

^ what he said...

Never thought I'd be using 24mm (equivalent) on my D-LUX as much when I bought it, useful yes, but find I rarely even zoom in, but want the option for one camera.

After having the GR now awhile - its a great camera - I wouldn't go for a 24 only option. The 28 is a good all around lens, and the GW3 adds the wider view.

What I'd love is a 50 or 75 in another camera that works the same Ricoh way. Two cameras with 21/28/50 with this quality, size, and easy of use would make me more than a little content.

Having owned the GR21 I wish they could make a GRD with an equivalent to that little gem of a lens.

I would prefer a 50mm GRD. Between the 28mm GRD and the 50mm model, you'd have street photography covered.

+1

A 50mm to compliment the 28mm would have me jumping for joy.

I'm also kind of hoping we will see a Leica X0 - a homage to the Null series Leica, with a 50mm view ; but the odds of this are probably equal to the odds of Ricoh making a 50mm GR :-(
