a first scan of some shots from yesterday afternoon.

this is a street scene and then a section of the pic.

hp5 processed in ddx but the film looks more grainy than normal.
could this be from developer that's too old?.

Joe, the marquee is sharp...... but terribly grainy! ;)

Just kidding. That lens looks like a winner and capable of high quality images. Your film/developer combination also seems to be excellent. I've always found HP-5 to be really good. I don't find the grain to be objectionable at all.

I would say a little grainy myself too... I use HP5 sometimes and found it to be nifty, I like delta better but its all good. I do them all up in Ilford LC29, not the most fashionable developer I guess but it gets the job done and looks good, and its the only developer I can get here besides d76...

Looking at your location, have you ever used Lucky brand developer before?

Nice...
Thanks Joe.. 25 just isn't wide enough for me though :)

If I get that Ikon.. I think the 21mm will be "my" lens ;)

Don't know whether it's really that, but I can see what looks like an outline of dried up liquid around the letter B in 'PUB' in the first image. Perhaps your 'rolling' the developer tank needs to be tuned a bit.

Otherwise, despite the grain, resolution looks good. I bet you can get mighty fine pictures out of that 25.

haha yes, I love Lucky bw film, its so cheap and fun to kick around, although the Era is better I think, Lucky scratches too easily. The developer on the other hand I have not had the best of luck, its a little harsh with highlights I think.

Joe

Congrats you got a winner. It looks Frankly sharp and contrasty.
