25 & 35mm Biogon - Am I mad?

The B25 may qualify as epic, but the ZM lens that I crave is the CB21. I only wish that C/V offered a metal 21mm VF like the 28mm - that circular profile is so cute (and practical).

The 25mm and the 35mm are the stars of the ZM line.

Have you tried the 50 planar??? This lens is absolutely outstanding! another poster commented that posted images from the 28 Zm have been ropey. I own one can assure you that this could not further from the truth. Assuming contrast is as good for the 28 as any other ZM lens (which I can vouch for) you are not going to see any resolution issues on web images unless very exacting selective enlargements are done. My 28 looks produces outstanding images. The 25 has the edge on MTF but unless shot wide open I doubt you would ever see it. The 28 is darned good, way smaller and also cheaper, esp if you count out the finder! I heard all the praise for the 25 and still ended up with the 28 after the dealer sent the wrong lens. I kept it because it was small and I could not. be bothered returning it from Afghanistan. I do not regret it for a minute.

The 35 is amazing, but have a peek at the 50 planar wide open and at 2.8.......

I have a Zeiss 28mm and recently picked up a ZM 35mm.
I considered the 25 however decided on the 28 because of the framelines on my .72 M6. I also use it on my RD-1 as a standard lens, again because of the available framelines and because the 1.5 crop factor turns it into a 43mm, which is close to 40mm, a focal length that I like.
The 28mm is an outstanding lens IMO, therefore the 25 must be OOTW (out of this world).🙂

Optically these are great choices especially considering the prices of Leica gear nowadays. The 24 has one advantage if you get an M8 down the road in that the proper framelines are selected whereas the ZM 25 does not activate the 24 framelines.
