25mm framing on R-D1?

21mm goes beyond the frame window
so will a 25mm lens fit the frame window perfectly?

I am trying to decide whether to get the CV 21/4 or 25/4
they should the be same design so optically they should perform the same, if 25/4 is easier framed on an R-D1, then I guess I would sacrifice the angle of view a little bit for the precision framing.

no real precision framing on a rf.
i had the 25 zm lens and it was a killer but sold it for the zm 21 as i prefer that slight increase in fov. not all that hard to use on the rd1.
though i did just buy the rd 21 finder...

I'd say get the 21mm. I had the same question and sprung for the ZM 21mm f/2.8. I couldn't be happier. If you don't want to use an external finder, the 50mm framelines in the R-D1 match up perfectly with the "rule of thirds" lines in the final shot using a 21mm. The 25mm could be composed similarly but just making a mental note that the field of view would be a bit narrower.

When use the 25mm on the Epson, I use the tiny 28/35 CV finder - the 35mm framelines are close enough for me.

I suppose the same finder could be use with a 21mm lens, using the 28mm lines instead.

I wish that there were more dual finders out there - I would love a 35/75 for my ledIca M3 body
