Leica just released the price for the M9 Titanium at $26,500. I knew it would be over 20K, but my eyes still popped out at this. I guess if you are Donald Trump the price is fine. I hope Leica sells them and takes the cash to put into developing real tools like ab M9.2, M10 or a CL digital we badly need to fill the gap between the X1 price and the M9 price.

I still laugh my ass off when I see this camera. All that expensive fluff does absolutely nothing for better picture taking. For that money, I would much rather buy an S2 or an M9 with a selection of the best lenses. My problem is I would never sink 20K plus for any camera or lens combo. I buy all of my M lenses USED in Ebay thank you very much.

I have a family, and I am a professional photographer. I would say I spent 20K in 15 years of cameras and Lenses.

Funny. I needed a new car recently because my Camry engine blew out. I bought a used Mercedes E320 CDI loaded for the same price as the Leica M9 Titanium.

Harrison Cameras in the UK has it on pre order at £19,800, but this includes free delivery :D

Rumor has it that the whole run of 500 pieces sold out in the first day...:eek: That is 11 million Euros in the bag that can be used towards the development of the M10. Not bad I would say. And Leica has been able to test the reactions to their various design prototypes. Clearly not this one,but #5 was well received.

Well, for some people dropping $30,000 is like me spending $13.00 on a movie at a movie theater.

I'm offering up my unborn child for one! Male, of good hearty stock, NT scan and amnio came back clean...

And why did you buy a loaded Mercedes instead of another Camry ?

Seriously, why so emotional about the price tag ? Leica is a private company, they can do whatever they want. And so can you when you decide to spend your money differently.

if that rumor is true, good for Leica.

I spent less on my car.

Imagine how many M2s and film you could buy for that money. And a Noctilux or two.

M9T suddenly makes the regular M9 look darn cheap...

I have often drooled over $1200-1500 cameras (for example) and finally bought a camera worth $700-800, when my original budget was around $300. :bang::bang:

Think about it..

I've seen a lot of trashing of both Leica and this camera, for reasons I'm sure of. Sour grapes? Class warfare? I dunno.

My attitude is if a lot want to buy this camera for snob value and bragging rights, let 'em. More money for Leica's R&D department. To me, a camera like that is useless--more of a display item than a working camera. I'll just take my humdrum black M and shoot away.

Do like the LED framelines, however. I've had problems seeing the M framelines in low-light situations, which has led to some off-balance photos. This might persuade me to buy an M10, if it has this feature--if I could come up with the scratch...

Well said.

The shoulder holster, no one buying this camera would actually use it. If nothing else, it's a handy signal to muggers that they have an easy mark in front of them.

I really don't get this eternal disdain for the special editions. They've been around for years and serve a purpose for the company. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy one.

I daresay Seal/Charlie/Ascender/Sealsong/6 has bought two. Well, it's his money. I'd rather spend the same on hiring a locum, taking my first vacation in ten years and going off and taking an awful lot of photographs.

that is good if they sold all of them, it subsidized R&D costs for the next camera. you want the M9.2 with better high iso performance or in-body antishake? those people just foot the bill to make it possible.
