There are 2 C-41 films available from Ultrafine, the XP-2 Private label retailing at $2.69 for 24 exposures and a "Chromogenic 400 B & W C-41 Film 35mm x 27 Exposure" which has a non-standard 27 exposures, selling at $1.59, the latter film is also DX-encoded.

I ordered a sampler of film emulsion including the 27-exp C-41 film.
What's interesting is the film negative color are the same, and developed in Rodinal, produces a purple negative color.

Anyone with similar experience on this mystery film ? If it is XP-2 then 1.59 is very reasonable.

thanks

27-exp sounds like a disposable camera -- it's a 24-exp roll but because it's loaded in the dark, the leader isn't fogged and you can take photos on the "leader".

Obviously not the case here (unless they're including the leader in the amount of imaginary exposures!).

I end up with about 25-28 exposures loaded when I bulk load (I have a bulk loader but prefer to hand-roll them in a changing bag). It's a useful number!
