are you thinking about getting the new 23?
Nope... it's too big for my taste.

I am tempted... But now that I thought it over some more. Nope as well.. I am a 40ish fov type of shooter and I mainly keeping the 35f1.4 as my fastest af lens.

Plus, it looks like I'll be getting the 23mm slr magic lens for $250 (and I have the X100s)... I'd rather try that.

I own the X100s and am pleased with the results. The 23mm f/1.4 looks LARGE to me- I like to keep my X100s in my coat pocket. I also own an Xpro-1 and two XE1 bodies, with all of the available lenses (save the 23mm f/1.4 and the 27mm f/2.8), which I use for work. My next lens will be the 10-24. I don't need to duplicate what the X100s already does very well. That being said, the X100s is by far my most-used camera.

i'm thinking about it...i have the 35/1.4 but a 50 fov is not my favourite.
i much prefer the 35 fov over the 50 fov.
i can either sell the 35 and get the 23...or sell the 35 and not get the 23...or just keep the 35 for when a faster lens would be handy.
i like the 27 (40 fov) best.

I guess it's a matter of what your back, bag and bank can bear. The x series cameras are superb in low light, so the added speed might be superfluous in many cases, but anything I have read says that the 23 f/1.4 is expected to be superior to the 27 optically, especially at wider apertures; this is significant if you like sharpness in low light. I'd wait and see what the 23 actually performs like and if it is as good as they say, turf the 35.

I like the 27 but I really, really want the 10-24.

Are you looking at a used lens for that price?
Are you looking at a used lens for that price?
Yes, used. I'm with Bob. I can't spend $899 for something the X100s does very well already. But for $250, I will try out a fast manual lens for the X-Pro1.

I am basically of the same mind..
Outside of the fact mine is a x100 and my manual focus fast 35 is a Nikon 35f1.4 ais or 35f2 afsd via speedbooster. Speed booster essentially gives me light gather capability of one stop, so that 35f1.4 ais is now a 35f1.0.
Then u add if that my preferred one lens solution has always been w/ a lens between 40-50.

my preference is 35-40...now i have 40-50...not sure if selling the 35 to get a 23 is worth the hassle...maybe i should sell the x-pro1 and get the 23 and keep the 35 as well...more lenses less bodies...?

No idea about what to do.....27 Pancake is small a lot and I can carry the camera everywhere. I'll swap the 27 only if I understand that the 23 has stunning performances...In this case I must change my bag too, and take that ONA Back-Alley style small bag (I usually don't carry the XE + 27 in a camera bag, unless I need to carry some spare lenses...).

Id like to get it. 35mm FOV is always my number one choice.
How are you guys gauging the size? are there pictures of it mounted to a body somewhere?

At 1.4 the 23 is better than the 27.

Totally different lenses, like comparing a Smart to a Minivan.

OMG...I've just seen a review and some pics from 23 f 1.4 here:
http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/fujifilm_xf_23mm_f1_4_review/
Seems stunning....don't know if keep the 27 Pancake or swap it with this new one...
The problem is I just take this bag:

I don't know if I can store the camera with the new lens inside it...
