28 & 50 on the rd1

Good shots Joe. I tend to prefer the wider shots though the
B&W fifty shot is excellent. You know from my older shots that I used the 28 Ultron as my main lens for some time. Having sold it some time ago I replaced it with a 35mm UC-hexanon which is a superb lens yet I seem to struggle with framing. I wear glasses and often find my framing a bit wonky when shooting 35, yet I've never noticed it when using a 28. The wonky frames also appear when using the tiny Perar lens. I think I'll have to put this down more to glasses / framelines.
Anyway having seen your shots I'm gonna get out my CV 28 3.5 and give it an outing.
I can understand your indecisiveness in settling on focal lengths as regardless of what you use you use you produce good shots.
 
Its simply tough to wear glasses and shoot wide on dRF, I've been using a Fotodiox VF magnification adaptor: magnification is 0.85x on my M8.U (which is a 0.72 mag built-in VF), with better ergonomics/viewing, but still "search" the framelines. This has pushed me to focus more on the central composition and less on the periphery, and then crop more. This has pushed me to shoot more like a traditional photojournalist, and help me build that into my skillset.

In any case, I have liked using the RD1s with my 50 Lux, while having the M8 coupled with a
CV 28/1.9 Asph lens, a seemingly underrated lens with great rendition for the price.
B/w the two rigs, I get a 67mm FOV on the RD1s and a 37mm FOV on the M8.

Of course, this is not ground breaking, especially since I got the idea from one of YOU RFF members, but I find its a great combo; Especially mating the RD1s sensor and its creamy rendition with the unique 50 Lux effects, produces nice results,
very similar to Joe's shot above: the B&W shot of the profiled gent in the foreground and receding bokeh in the background -- great shot, BTW.

Kind of a long shot, but any RD1x's available for sale in the US? or do I have to go to Japan to get one?

All great shots but really like the shots from the 50 Joe! They're great, I love up close and personal.

I love that first shot whereby I get the feeling the guy is trying to explain something but is being misunderstood or not getting the answer he wants and then then hands start waving around.

In the second shot I feel the guy is listening intently to someone out of frame. By taking this shot it makes it more interesting for me by not seeing who he is listening to.
