Came across this lens whilst browsing, trying to satisfy the GAS.
Looks OK? if a little cheaply made?
Anyone got a lead on how good they are?
Star 6 28mm f2.8

nzeeman, good info and well seen. That would explain why the sample photo is seriously vignetted and the marks on the lens surround where the letters have been rubbed off. Bit of artistic license being sold as part of a FED 5?

Don't quote me, but I think there is a previous thread on this lens (some time ago now)... If I remember rightly it will fit any ltm camera, but might not focus correctly ??? as the 1/2 frame camera it was made for has a shorter distance from the lens mount to the film plane... Again, I'm just going from memory

This just shows how carefully we must research before buying lenses which won't fit/work.
Still smiling over their attempt to rub out some of the letters!
It's a good job that nzeeman is on the case! I nearly bought it. (and the FED 5 which came with it, I may need extra sedation this evening, better pop an extra couple in the fridge)

Ah! I like "good" surprises. I also get stuff this way.
I recenly bought a box of Zenit 3 bits and lenses. I wanted the Zenit as spares for my (yet-to-work) Zorki 6. The box had in it two mint J11's, one for zenit, one ltm, a mint ltm J8 and the Mir-1 for the zenit. Boy, it was like my birthday! Trouble was that the Zenit was too nice to break and it's really quite a nice camera.. ...........bought another for the job...which was also too nice and I was getting a liking for them. Took a third attempt to get one as spares! My wife was thrilled.

To call it an Orion is simply cheating... stay clear from this seller I reckon... devious little trick that. Yes the Chaika lens was designed so it could be removed and used as an enlarger for the half frame pictures! What a concept
And no don't try and use it on your RF...
