i am the very proud owner of a new r2a, i also have an m6. i am waiting delivery of a 28mm 1.9 that i will be using on both cameras. i have noticed that the 28mm framelines in the m6 are pretty much the edge of the veiw finder when you look straight through and that the magnification is the same through the r2a veiwfinder.
my question is... how successfull am i likely to be with the r2a without an add on viewfinder has anyone tried this?

If you don't wear glasses, you can certainly do that.

I used to do that, with a R2, which I think has the same viewfinder.
I was quite happy with the results. The only drawback is that you don't
have parallax correction in this way, but you don't have it with an
external finder either.

The key point are glasses. You need to squeeze your eye to the viewfinder
in order to see the edges.

Enjoy your new adquisition!

I have had no problem using a 28 w/ a bessa r, and I wear glasses. The vf magnification on the r is .7, and my understanding is that the vf magnification on the r2* models is the same. I find there's enough of a margin around the 35mm framelines to approximate 28mm, using the entire vf window. Good luck!
