After 10 years of use, I decided to sell my beloved G2 for several reasons. Knowing that it will die one day, or will face the lack of parts reality if it causes any issues worries me. Even though I used it more often than my Leica M6 after buying it, I also want to consolidate into one system, more reliable and with more service possibilities, my Leica M6.

I will sell it locally and the buyer himself asked me to look at the shutter count. I found the video showing how to do and I figured out that my G2 has only 3336 shots shutter count! Even though cosmetically it isn't mint, I think that low shutter count is very good. I had bought it through ebay from a seller from Japan.

I was thinking to sell the body and the 28mm lens for 1200 usd. Is it a fair price considering the low shutter count? Is this a rare condition to find a G2 at those low counts those days?

P.s. I am not located in US so this is not an ad post...

The only gauge I have is to look at completed auctions on Ebay. I see Contax G2 cameras with a lens selling for anywhere from $1000 to $3000+ ... You should browse a few of those listings and see what matches your camera's condition best for an idea of a reasonably saleable price.

I had a three lens G2 kit once upon a time. It made lovely photos, but I didn't like the autofocus or the feel of the lens when I focused manually. I'd had Leica's before it, and sold it, used the money to help fund getting back into Leica M gear. That was around 30 years ago when the cost differential between Contax G and Leica M gear was a bit less steep than today...
