I have decided to soon begin a new photo-project using only 28mm once a week over 28 weeks, mainly for street photography, and mostly with film cameras (using black and white film).
I hope to post more about the project as I do it, but in the meantime a little gear question and cheeky favour request... I am currently away from home so having to recall form memory my favourite 28mm lenses, but I think I have the following, or am soon to receive the following, and each of these shall feature in the project, but (a) are there any REALLY glaring omissions from the list in your view and (b) if so, would anyone be so kind as to lend me whatever is omitted for one week
Nick

Yeah I was going to say the Nikon 28 f/2.8 AI-S as well. I’ve got one for sale conveniently enough
Also the Leica 28mm Elmarit ASPH deserves some credit, in some ways I did prefer the Summicron, but the size and performance of the Elmarit are not to be ignored. It’s really a stellar 28mm lens.

Thanks guys
The Nikon AI-S looks like a definite addition - I have read such good things about it. Assume I should avoid the cheaper E version?
The Elmarit 28-M Asph is one I would love to add - I owned and sold one before. I'm not sure I can justify the expense though, having already got the 28mm Summicron which is my favourite 28 lens for Leica M - so I am going to hope to borrow that one for a week!
Sebastel - your list is amazing. I do have a few of this, most others not, and some I haven't heard of. I shall look for a few of them...

no i don't. i only collected a list of historical 28mm lenses, out of curiosity.
actually, i own only a few very pedestrian representatives of this focal length, like the leitz elmarit M ver. II (which i prefer over the ver. III), ZM biogon, super takumar, or a tokina RMC II.

Want to qualify your mention of the 28 R Elmarit; only v. II merits the attention and of the SLR lenses listed, none hold a candle to it.

I see from your list that you have the screw mount Pentax 28. When I first got back in to photography, I was surprised that there were other focal lengths available. It was pretty obvious that 28mm and 135mm were considered a good combination. I saw a set in the PX, 28mm and 135mm Yashikors. I was elated. I had no idea there were different qualities of lenses. Why would that be
Both lenses would flare at any opportunity, especially the 28mm. I got pretty creative at learning what to do with the flare in photographs.
That would be the only reason to suggest it. Especially for very sunny days, and street scenes that have a lot of artificial lights in the background. You may be surprised sometimes. But if you are very sure you never want any more flare that is forced on you, it would not be for you.

I don't see the Minolta M-Rokkor 28... The one that gets the white spots on the glass.
I think Konica made an M-Hexanon 28, no? I would love to have one.

More great answers - thank you, and narsuitus I love your taste and your photo!
I have often thought about the Fuji Klasse W, but having bought the Ricoh GR1v and Contax G2 with 28 Biogon (both of which I await), and having already got the Minolta TC-1, I'm not sure it adds anything. Does it?
