Is there a point and shoot with a 28mm lens and scale focus? I'm aware of the Olympus XA4 but they are getting really expensive. Any other ideas? I don't care about features except integrated flash. With autofocus there are a few options of course (already have the nikon af600 in that department). Something like the Konica c35 EF series just with a 28 would be nice. Am i asking too much?

The CX-1/CX-2/Lomo LC-A and its various variants and copies had 32 or 33mm lenses.

but are there variants with integrated flash?

No - they had a semi-integrated (that is, completely filling the space to the camera) hotshoe flash. I vaguely remember (pictures of) a German (Porst or Revue) re-branded one with a faux XA style side-car flash, but all the ones I find online have the regular CX-11 type flash, so perhaps that side-car one never materialized beyond period catalogues or ads.

Some thoughts from others here:
28mm P&S
The Ricoh R35 AF is near your wishes, but not cheap though:

If I did not miss anything, all cameras we talked about there were AF. But there certainly will be more choice there, as wide-angle lenses did not gain popularity among the masses until almost two decades after AF became standard for P&S cameras.

^^Wow, never heard of the Ricoh before, thanks petronius. Optional AF, hotshoe, filter threads, makes me wonder why it doesn't have a cult following around here.
EDIT: More info here: http://www.troeszter.net/Ricoh35R.html (in German, but Google Translate does an acceptable job). It promises "Total Creative Control"! Says so right on the top plate.

You missed the Kowa SW in post #2, a rare and expensive camera:

Well, if that counts as a point and shoot, we'd also have to include the Contarex Hologon (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Contarex-Hologon-Mint-/260957866554)...

You are right, somewhere has to be a borderline

There are some "wide to light tele" zoom AF P&S's with snap mode, setting lens at wide angle and focusing lens at 2.5-3 meters, they also have infinity focus mode. While not true scale focus WA cameras, they are cheaper than XA4's - if this distances suit one's needs.

The Fuji DL Supermini can scale focus - you set the camera focusing distance manually from 0.35 meters to 10 meters and infinity. It also has a snap mode. This Snap mode will focus between at 3 meters and the camera will choose a small aperture to throw everything in sharp focus. With a 28 mm lens, in theory, with f/5.6 you can have everything in focus between 1.83m to 8.41m.

If you can afford around $500 then the Contax G1 w.28/2.8 Biogon. The nearest thing to Leica quality.

Right! So does also DL Super mini zoom.
This Fuji's are superb cameras.

Thanks for all the replies. I also noticed that the 28mm focal length became more popular after the introduction of AF, thus not many options. Regarding the contax and bessa proposals: I already own a Leica IIIf and a skopar 25/4 in LTM. This is the setup I use 90% of the time (also with flash). Just looking for a compact, taking with me when going out, operable when slightly drunk, flash integrated, not too bad when breaking or losing it, alternative

and no, digital is NOT an option - just because i'm taking snaps doesn't mean i'm not serious about it

It's autofocus, but a Konica WA28 might fit the bill (zoom from 28mm to 56mm), with a built in flash. Don't know the other specs, as the seller didn't supply any.
