I sent my long suffering M3 over to CRR Luton for a much-needed CLA with a rangefinder restoration. If you have ever wondered what an M3's viewfinder looked like when it was brand new, you can now with the absolutely effective rangefinder restoration service!

Summary of what I had done there:
"As received: RF dim, shutter/wind 'dry', vulcanite u/s, internal seals u/s, (RF) mask u/s.
Total stripdown of body to clean/lubricate & service shutter/wind/transport mechanisms. RF dismantled to chemically clean & restore. Internal seals replaced & camera rebuilt, calibrated/recollimated on completion.
The vulcanite has been patched and stabilised. Please note that the RF mask has been exchanged free of charge."

All this done in just a week from reception to completion as well, with no extra charge!

Now I know where to send all my future M cameras to...;)

P.S. if anyone was wondering, it cost me a total of GBP 285 for the CLA and RF restoration. The RF restoration alone is GBP 165.

Thank you for the link. for some reason it does not work for me, will do a google search. It would be nice to have an M3 with a functioning covering.

I have had an M2 in for a black paint job, OP had a turnaround of a week, I wish, I'm four years in and waiting. Must be all these other people he is keeping happy instead of doing mine.
I get an annual call saying real soon now, usually just after Christmas: each one.

Always pleased when someone gets good service, I have had it many times from others, I don't post about it because I know others will chime in with a bad experience, here I am to prove it.
