What became of the new 35mm F/1.7 Ultron? I haven't seen much more on that lens. Anyone planning on getting it?

Now that I've got the LTM version, I'll never get rid of it. My favorite 35 that I can afford, as far as I can tell...
Tom A has been shooting a prototype and says its exceptional.
I'm guessing the new Voigtlander 35/1.7 will be released in the first quarter of 2015, likewise the new Voigtlander 15/4.5 III.

My understanding from when Stephen announced it was that it's due to be released sometime in the first quarter of this year. I found some preview photos of it on-line. Looks nice, but a tad bulky.
I won't be buying one, though, since I just recently spent a wad on a very nice condition Summilux 35mm f/1.4 v2 ... which produces some of the most beautiful rendering with either film or digital Ms I've ever seen. A serious Walter Mandler signature...
If the Ultron close to that, it will be killer.

Price point?
Well the new M mount Nokton 50/1.5 is $1,049.00 for the chrome finish and $899.00 for the black. I can't see how the new Ultron would be less than this . . .

Seems like an absurdly long lag from product announcement to release.

The 35mm Ultron is up there with sliced bread. (as in best thing since...) It even takes proper 39mm accessories. I'm very happy with mine, and don't know why there would be any particular benefit to a fixed M-version, especially if it gets bigger.

b) sharpness?

What is so good about the Ultron? Should I buy one then? I see there are a number available from Japan probably in anticipation of the release of the new lens.
In terms of advantages of the new version: Tom A. who has been involved in its design finds the LTM Ultron awkward to focus. There are also many stories circulating that point to some durability issues -- the front ring has been prone to come right off the lens (or something like that). The new Ultron is smooth, well designed and solid -- and of course no need for the adapter for all those who shoot with M mount cameras.

Well, a sample of one isn't much use, but I have had no ergonomic or reliability problems with mine. It is a high-contrast lens, didn't cost much, and has given me some excellent results.

I could swear that I said it here before; when the M mount version arrives, some people will sell off their ltm lenses.

Strangely, I have never find the old LTM version lacking in both of these aspects.

Maybe Cosina is busy with designing a shade for it that will also fit the new and great Nokton-M 50mm f/1.5 as an improvement of the shade that is currently delivered with that lens.

Hm, I had a look at the webpage from Cosina (Japanese version) and could not find any hint. However, the Distagon 35/1.4 ZM is announced there and I wonder if it makes sense at all to release a new version of the 35/1.7 Ultron with two 35/1.4, the 35/1.2, and 35/2.5 already offered.
