Hello everyone,
Last night, I finally had the chance to test my newly arrived GT as the battery adaptor from Yashica-guy has arrived. (Very handy and cool adaptor that one is)
The Problem:
Light meter seems to be accurate judging by noting the last aperture size that the ‘slow’ warning light remained off and compare that with a reliable camera. (reading off reliable camera under same setting is around 1/30)
When both the ‘fast’ and ‘slow’ warning light is off, the shutter seems to open and close at correct speeds. (blink of an eye)
When ‘slow’ warning light is on, even just one stop after the ‘slow’ warning light remained off, the shutter seems to go into the ‘B’ shutter mode. (opening more than 4 sec at least / or until I release the shutter release button)
The flash mode operates also like a ‘B’ shutter mode.
Any advise welcome !

See Yashica-guy and Roger Provins websites for more info about the (in)famous pad of death. This should be 2mm thick (+/- 0.07 mm).

Yeah, you might be right as the top cover of the camera has been opened before as the screws are quite loose and one screw is actually missing when it arrived and that the shutter release button is very jerky and creates a click noise when it springs back to position after being fired.
But I don’t' think I am technically competent enough to do the checking, if the problem is what you said, will it be expensive job to fix it if I take it for professional help? (Or do you think I can just open the top and adjust the rods myself?)

That can be done by just taking the top off.
Some of the other members have done theirs this way.
The click is happening irregularly usually after my finger just went completely off the release button but sometimes it is while my finger is just releasing it.
The other thign is I have to press the button down very close to the bottom to start the meter and firing it needs pressing all the way down to the ground of it. Is this rining a bell again?

Further to my further researching ont he www today , I am now quite sure my 35GT's pad of death needs replacing.
but will the replacement of pad of death also cure the shutter operating like a 'B' mode shutter in auto mode when slow light is on / and during flash mode ? or is it something else?
The 'slow' light is stable and never flashes on and off. I have seen the 'fast' light flicker when i press down the release button.
