From the s/n, it should be the lastest Lux apsh. If it is, the price is a steal, I must say.

Moreover, for Titaninum verion 35 lux, I only see in APSH version.

Perhaps it is the one of the last pre-asph titanium summilux 35s. If so, the price is still excellent. If it has "Aspherical" on it, the lens is unbelievably underpriced....I think those usually go for ~6K USD. But I am uncertain whether there were any titanium aspherical lux 35s. So my bet is with the pre-asph titanium, which is a sweet lens indeed at that price.

Here's a very bad pics taken on my Iphone. No box n paper though. Some dust in lens n a generic rear cap. The front cap does look a bit suspicious cos' first time see the leica fonts that's different.

Just buy it, and if you don't like it, sell it here. I'll buy it if the other 100 people don't get to it first. 🙂

From the SN it is from the last batches made in Germany, the lens cap is the original 35mm Summilux-M pre-ASPH front lens-cap. I am not so sure about the price, though .... For $1.7K (USD, I assume), it should contain, the box, pouch paper, original 12504 hood (very expensive to bu separately).

It is sometimes better to have a look for a M6 classic / 35mm Summilux pre-ASPH titanium set. Just recently one sold on the big auction-place for $2823.

Thomas, the actual 35mm Summilux ASPH is also available in titanium finish, a little pricey ...

latest update. Meeting a guy with a collection of over 70 m-mount lens tonite to view his NOS 35 titanium Lux for $1.9K. Comes with box, hood, caps n papers. Any idea what's the filter size for this baby? Serial no is 3538XXX.

3538xxx was already made in titanium ? I thought these titanium versions were all 3600xxx and higher ? Just wondering because mine, a plain black-anodized version, is also 3538xxx.

The filter size is series vii or a slim E48, which fit into the 12504 hood. I think if these filters were ever made, a A42 clamp-on also fits but then without hood.

I use mostly series vii with mine.

Saw the lens just now. Mint condition was having some doubt abt the coating scratches only visible under LED lights. Took some test shots with seller's M8 and pics look good. Should I get it? Yes, it's indeed a titanium lux with the vented hood.

$1.7k USD is not what I would call a bargain ... My copy (normal black version) was $1450 (including shipping) two and a half years ago for a like new lens without any marks on the barrel hood or glass.

Difficult to give an advice ... These lenses in titanium finish are rare and a little sought after by collectors, especially in Japan in HK. If you are going to use it, it won't look mint after some time and you won't get the same amount of money if you are going to sell it. On the other hand, if you really like photos taken with this lens (especially wide open) and are not planning to sell it ...
