Robin can't you drive down to Peter at Luton? He's not always as busy as his website suggest.

There's nothing like Peter, anywhere. A most responsible man if ever there's been one.
Agreed. He's terrific.
I've found Youxin competent, responsive and good value, but I'd send anything hardcore to Peter.

Ok, an update:
- I sent the lens back, and gave them another three weeks to work on it. They changed the grease to a lighter lube, and removed the spec of dust.
- They still could give me no satisfactory answer as to what they could/would do to fix the focus problem.
- I asked them to return the lens, and refund the cost of repair.
- They have done so.
The company in question was Newton Ellis and Co. in Liverpool. Just to confirm - the work they did on the 90mm and 28mm seems very good, and I used them after a strong recommendation from a fellow RFFer who sent my old Sumicron 50 to them (which was suffering from similar focus issues) and was delighted with the results. So the only reservation I would pass on is: do not send them a 35mm pre-asph lux with focus issues. For all other service issues, they would appear perfectly competent.
Now, where next for the 35?
To Peter...or Malcolm....or to the RFF classifieds?

Robin either Peter or Malcom is fine, just pick one who is not too busy, and Peter is closer to you

Another vote for Peter. He's always done great work for me and will tell you if something isn't worth doing rather than waste his time and your money.
